Welcome to Manor Lodge, a traditional Norfolk brick and flint building, originally three farm cottages transformed into one dwelling, situated amongst gentle rolling fields with stunning views across open countryside and farmland yet only a mile and a half from the sea. In addition to Bed and Breakfast accommodation, the Lodge provides an idyllic setting in which to relax, swim, work out or simply just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, wonderful views and refreshingly clean North Norfolk air. Situated in the village of Witton, close to the traditional market town of North Walsham, Manor Lodge is within easy reach of the sandy beaches of the unspoilt North Norfolk coast, merely twenty minutes away from the start of the famous Norfolk Broads, and less than 17 miles away from the historic city of Norwich, with its glorious cathedral and ancient city centre. Radiating from the lodge there are fabulous walks or leisurely strolls along ancient walkways or the quiet lanes. The famously level landscape is ideal for cycling. (Bikes can be kept in the garage or hired for the duration of your stay). The immediate area is a haven for nature lovers as it is home to numerous species of wildlife. Red Deer and Hares are frequent visitors to the fields around the lodge. Barn Owls, Kestrels and a male Merlin make regular flights around the property and the garden is visited by many lovely birds with swallows, swifts and house martens nesting under the eaves and gables in early summer. It is a truly amazing sight to see these extraordinarily fast birds in flight and watch their acrobatics. Huge flocks of geese fly overhead, either arriving here in the UK or on their way to distant lands on migration. Come and stay with us in beautiful North Norfolkand have a breakaway to remember! |
